The Currency Switcher for Easy Digital Downloads allows your shop to display prices and accept payments in multiple currencies. This will grant your Visitors the possibility of shopping in their favourite currency eliminating the costs associated with credit card currency conversions. Should you have any questions about this product please have a look at the Knowledge Base or feel free to contact us.
This product is currently not fully compatible with Easy Digital Downloads 3.0. The new version introduces significant changes and new components that can’t be extended to add multi-currency support. We are discussing this aspect with the Easy Digital Downloads developers to see if we can find a solution.

Due to the complexity of changes we can’t guarantee that we will be able to add support for Easy Digital Downloads 3.0. For this reason we decided to suspend the sale of this product as announced last November. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Update – September 2021
We established a collaboration with the EDD Team to help them develop a multi-currency solution for Easy Digital Downloads 3.0. We’re pleased to announce that the EDD Team has been able to prepare such a solution. We don’t have an exact release date yet but they informed us that a multi-currency addon for Easy Digital Downloads will soon become available on the official EDD marketplace.
Currency Switcher for Easy Digital Downloads allows your visitors to select in which currency they would like to see your prices as well as complete transactions in such currency.
Once enabled the plugin will allow you to configure a list of the currencies you would like to accept. Such currencies will then appear in a list displayed as a widget which your Users can use to choose their preferred currency. When a User selects a currency the shop will be both displaying prices and completing transactions in the new currency. That is the prices displayed on the shop will be the ones that the Client will pay upon completing the order.
This feature will enable your shop to receive payments in different currencies thus reducing the costs deriving from currency conversions performed by the various payment gateways. Also credit card operators often charge a conversion fee when a payment is made in a currency different from the one for which the card was issued.
This adds an extra cost on every purchase and it can discourage prospective clients. giving your Visitors the possibility of paying in their currency can help improving conversion. Every order will store the currency used to place it so that both Shop Managers and Clients will be able to retrieve it and see how much they paid.
Please Note Your ability to accept payment in each currency will depend on your payment gateway and/or payment processing company so your Customers will need to complete their purchase in the appropriate currency.

Since we implemented Currency Switcher for Easy Digital Downloads on our e-commerce website over a year ago our revenue has quadrupled! We were doing quite well already when we only accepted payment in euros or dollars but now we accept payments in over 15 currencies and our revenue curve has grown exponentially since day-1 after activating the plugin! This is just crazy! One thing I would very much like to see implemented in the future is the ability via EDD to offer a signup fee in different currencies + have recurring payments (via EDD Recurring Payments) converted from foreign currencies to my currency (euro). However all in all I can only warmly recommend this plugin. And whenever I needed support Diego was here for us!

Thanks for your feedback! We’re glad that our products meet your expectations. Unfortunately we no longer write integrations with 3rd party plugins but I will take note of your request to see if we can find a way to allow entering signup fees in multiple currencies.

Great product! I was looking for a solution to accept multiple currencies with Easy Digital Downloads and I’m glad I stumbled across this one which implements all the features I was looking for. It’s also cheaper than competitor products and it can be used on unlimited sites.
